Mili  ♀

Inti  ♀

Inti came to us just hours after birth, and had already experienced human indifference. A tourist who had just arrived on the island spotted her curled up beneath a plant while waiting by the hotel pool for her room to be ready. She alerted the staff, but—what a surprise—no one understood her.

The little one had been there for at least four hours, lying under the blazing sun while music played and people enjoyed themselves around her. Little by little, she was fading away, invisible to everyone. When the tourist contacted us and we saw the situation, we didn’t hesitate for a second: we had to save her. She carefully wrapped her in a towel and kept her safe until we could pick her up.

She’s a natural fighter, full of life and tenderness, reminding us how important it is not to look the other way.

When she turns two months old, Inti will be ready to find her forever home. We’re looking for a family to give her the love and security she has always deserved, preferably in a home with another cat, as she’s a very affectionate, playful little one who enjoys company.

After losing Kitty, Mili and Pili came into my life.

Mili was one of them: one of those cats who become part of your home and your daily life, without you ever imagining that one day you’ll have to tell their story in the past tense.

One day, Mili fell from the balcony. We searched for her for a long time, but we never managed to find her or know what became of her.

And maybe that’s the hardest part: there was no goodbye and no closure. Just, one day she was there, and the next began a search that never had an answer.

Many years have passed, and I still remember her.

Mili changed my understanding of home safety forever. There are experiences that teach you in the most painful way that an accident can happen in a matter of seconds.

That’s why her story stays with me and, in a way, lies behind every balcony, window, or patio we ask to protect today.

Because I never found out what happened to Mili, but I do know one thing: I will never forget her. 🤍
