Lois ♂
Inti ♀
Inti came to us just hours after birth, and had already experienced human indifference. A tourist who had just arrived on the island spotted her curled up beneath a plant while waiting by the hotel pool for her room to be ready. She alerted the staff, but—what a surprise—no one understood her.
The little one had been there for at least four hours, lying under the blazing sun while music played and people enjoyed themselves around her. Little by little, she was fading away, invisible to everyone. When the tourist contacted us and we saw the situation, we didn’t hesitate for a second: we had to save her. She carefully wrapped her in a towel and kept her safe until we could pick her up.
She’s a natural fighter, full of life and tenderness, reminding us how important it is not to look the other way.
When she turns two months old, Inti will be ready to find her forever home. We’re looking for a family to give her the love and security she has always deserved, preferably in a home with another cat, as she’s a very affectionate, playful little one who enjoys company.
I pulled Lois from an animal shelter shortly before the pandemic.
He arrived with a broken leg, severe respiratory issues, and an eye infection so severe that he lost an eye. He was one of those cats who arrive completely broken, but who, without you quite knowing how, end up taking up a huge space in your life.
Lois was, perhaps, one of the most special cats to ever pass through my home.
During the time he spent with me, he recovered, we got to know him, and finally, his chance came: we found a family for him.
Lois is no longer here. His life ended sooner than we would have liked, but that doesn't erase everything that came before.
He was rescued, cared for, loved, and had a home.
That’s why, when I think of him, I don’t want to remember only that he passed away. I want to remember the incredible cat he was and how lucky I was that his path crossed with mine. 🤍
